I am a woman

Of many sorrows

You may break my heart

But remember this:

My heart belongs to Jesus

He will heal

Every crack you make

With your words of rejection

And daggers of hate

He is the One

Who champions my soul

Who rights my wrongs

Who makes me whole

Every tear I cry

Because of you

Is saved in bottles

With heaven's dew

He is the One

Who avenges my life

Who breaks your arrows

And wins all my fights

You may throw your stones,

but remember this:

I have the One

Who is faithful and true

His love is everlasting

He is not like you

Your love is fleeting

It comes and goes

I never know which way

Your mood will flow

But I have an anchor

Upon your rocky sea

You can rock and roll me

But from your storm

I am f r e e

You may try to crash me

On the fatal rocks

But I have a Lighthouse

To guide me safely Home

I soar above your violent waves

Safe beneath His wings

His kindness soothes my soul

His healing sets me f r e e
