Everyday Life Crisis Intervention Intercession

When you hear the term "Crisis Intervention Intercession" it is usually used in the context of a national level event that is threatening our nation, or a world crisis event. However, the Holy Spirit not only wants us to intervene in large scale crisis events, but on the macro level of our everyday lives.

Now more than ever we all need to be intervening in prayer for our neighbors and family in prayer. The pandemic has caused the increase of domestic abuse because of the need to social distance and sequestering at home. The tension is spilling out into the public forums of our everyday lives.

If you listen closely, you can hear the angst in the tone of the voices in the grocery store and the social media posts. People are frustrated and angry not only about the pandemic, but the political environment we are dealing with. Financial pressures are mounting and people are on the brink of financial ruin, or even losing their homes. Individual pressures are at the tipping point and many are exploding in desperation. People are losing loved ones by the droves. Sorrow and heart wrenching pain is flooding our world. The suffering our neighbors are in is unprecedented. Holy Spirit is calling out in our neighborhood streets for believers to pray and intervene in crisis intervention intercession in our individual spheres of influence.

When you hear your neighbors arguing, take a second to pray for them. When you see the boy being berated by his verbally abusive Father in the grocery store parking lot, stop what you are thinking about in that moment and say a prayer for peace to come to that situation or protection for that child. When you hear of a friend who is battling Covid-19, pray for thier healing every time you think of them. When you see a beggar on the street help them if you can, and pray for them to have a home. In your everyday life continually lift up those who the Lord puts in your path who need the Father's intervention.

The Lord is asking us in this dark time to bring the light of hope by crashing the kingdom of darkness with the kingdom of heavenly Light. We do this through crisis intervention intercession when we war in the Spirit in prayer for each crisis we encounter. We bring His "Kingdom come, His will be done" into the destructive power and acts of the enemy when we pray. We overcome the enemy tactics by "withstanding in the evil day" (Eph 6:13) through prayer using scripture and our faith "and after having done all, to stand".

If we all become watchmen of the lives of those around us and intervene in prayer, collectively we will bring victory and the "Father's will be done" to the crisis we witness everyday. Together we can make a difference in our corner of the world, which in turn will bring the Kingdom of heaven though crisis intervention intercession to the entire world.
