Advocate

Jesus is our Advocate in the courts of heaven (see 1John 2:1). He defends us when the accuser brings accusations against us. Jesus reminds satan we are His and are adopted into the kingdom of heaven (see Eph. 1:5) and have become joint heirs with Christ (see Rom. 8:17) through the great sacrifice He made by taking all of our sins on the cross. Additionally, He is seated at the right hand of God the Father praying to the Father for you day and night 24-7 (see Romans 8:34). Jesus, through the crucifixion of the cross took from satan the keys of death, condemnation of sin, and all sickness (see 1Peter 2:24), and triumphantly rose from the dead on the third day (see 1Cor. 15:4). Because of this holy act we are forgiven for any mistake we could ever make if we ask for forgiveness. We can receive healing from all our emotional and physical pain and are given everlasting life. So, believer, who are you going to listen to and agree with? Satan or Jesus? It is up to you to manage your thought life and fill your mind with scripture that describes who you are in Christ. You have to do the work. You do not automatically have the proper mindset regarding your life when you get saved. You have to purposefully read the Word and search out what God says about you. Reading the scriptures one time will not change your mindset. You have to ingest the Word daily. With consistent time in the Word your mindset will be transformed and your mind will be renewed to come into agreement with what God says about you. Run the race with confidence! Work out your salvation with the fear of the Lord! Win the prize!
