Blame

When a natural disaster happens there is a disturbing thing that happens in the Christian community. Some people, not all, will say something to the effect of: “God is pouring out His wrath on that State!” or “The sin is so great in the people of that State that the disaster was inevitable”, or worse yet, “Those people are so evil they deserve it! Let them all suffer!” It is obvious to me that the church, in general, has not been taught the truth. I place the blame for this fact squarely on church leaders shoulders. Sadly, the leaders of the church may not be aware that omission of truth is as bad as misleading. Perhaps they are not mature enough to stand up and speak the truth no matter the consequence. No matter. I will speak up.
We serve a God who is compassionate and kind. Our God is longsuffering, gentle and slow to anger (see Psalms 86:15). He is merciful and has an everlasting love for each one of us – saved or lost (see Jeremiah 31:3). He would that NONE should perish (see 2 Peter 3:9). He is the giver of life – not death (see John 3:15). He is the giver of health – not disease (see Psalms 103:3). He blesses the land with peace – not disaster (see Luke 2:14). He is the Creator of all the earth (see Psalm 146:6) and is kind to all He made (see Psalms 145:9). So why then do people blame God for natural disasters? It is because they have not been taught the whole truth, only partial truth.
Who is to blame then, you ask. Simply stated, satan is. He comes to kill, steal and to destroy (see John 10:10). He is the prince of the air (see Ephesians 2:2) and he has dominion on the earth until the return of Christ (see Revelation 20:1-3). He is responsible for all natural disasters, cancer and all the suffering in the world. He is to blame. Not people, although he does work through people to bring death and destruction. Satan is the reason for all the loss (he steals), all the destruction (he destroys), and all the death (he kills) in this world.
I challenge you, therefore, to read your bible. Study and know the truth (https://www.biblestudytools.com/topical-verses/bible-verses-about-satan/), and please stopping blaming your loving Father in Heaven or people who are suffering in a natural disaster. Place the blame where it truly belongs: on satan. ♥︎TLC♥︎
